^ 541 v	I realize that the chances of Sarah reading this are slim, but I write anyway. I have been a huge fan for about 10 years. It has been the last 4 years that I have felt a true connection to her music. I have truly related to all of her songs at one time or another. Most recently though, my mother passed away at the young age of 50. She had a rare form of cancer. Sarah's Mirrorball c.d. has played non-stop on my c.d player since September the 12. Her songs have made me cry and picked me up when I did not know where to turn. She has been a comfort in my alone time and in my grief. With everything that has gone on in the world lately, I have felt an urgency to let people know they make a difference in the world. ^ 528 v	Hey!, Sarah has been an inspiration to me since last year, when I was just sitting around contimplating Canadian artist that I listen to religiously, like Barenaked Ladies and Alanis Morrisette... and I all of a sudden thought that Sarah McLachlan is a singer i want to check out. Not very often is it I find a paticular singer or band I enjoy, but I impulsively went to Wal-Mart, found both Fumbling towards ecstacy and Surfacing, previewed Fumbling, and bought it not sure if i'd really like it or not. BUT I LOVE IT!!! i know have every Cd except Rarities, Mirrorball and the freedom sessions... but i digress, it was one night when i felt very used and didn't know how to handle myself... i went through days of unsertanty and then i payed very close attention to the song "Ice". im not exactly sure that it was her intention to center the song around vulnerability, but thats what i felt and decided to use that song as an anthem. "the ice is thin, come on dive in, underneath my lucid skin the cold is lost forgoten,,," Metephore for how ive been hurt and how non-chalantly i would except new easy love. "you enter into me, a lie upon your lips,,," being loved and left. but in the song ive found hope and i thank her and i will always be an undying fan :)
